GRACE KELLY AND PRINCE RAINIER III

THE STORY

The guest of honour at the 1955 Festival de Cannes, Grace Kelly never thought that her life was about to change. But it did. Grace Kelly met Rainer III at a photoshoot at the Palace of Monaco. It was the start of a great love story between the actress and the prince.

Their engagement in January of 1956 was marked by a ring that would never leave her finger. She even insisted on wearing it in High Society, directed by Charles Walters, her last appearance on the screen.
Thus, with the ring on her finger, the audience discovered the character of Tracy Samantha Lord as she lay on her bed, playfully polishing it with a corner of a silk sheet.
It truly was an exceptional diamond...

THE CREATION

To celebrate their engagement, Prince Rainier III of Monaco offered his future wife a ring with an emerald-cut diamond of 10.47 carats.

To emphasise the ring's originality, the jewellers designed a platinum mount with a baguette-cut diamond on each side of the central stone.
