NATIONAL GALLERY OF AUSTRALIA (AUSTRALIA)

Cartier: The Exhibition

From 30 March to 22 July 2018, the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra presented Cartier: The Exhibition. For the first time, the Cartier Collection made its way to Australian soil at the country’s largest museum located in the capital city. Never before had a Cartier exhibition of this scale been seen in Australia.

Over 300 spectacular pieces of jewellery, precious objects, watches and clocks from the Cartier Collection and several other prestigious institutions, including the British Royal Collection, revealed the world of Cartier: its most famous clients, its fascination with the East, its vision of elegance, and its pioneering spirit and savoir-faire. Visitors were able to travel through styles and eras to discover how Cartier constantly moves and creates with the times.

This exhibition was the second iteration of a retrospective presented in 2014-2015 at the Denver Art Museum in the United States, Brilliant, Cartier in the 20th century.
