Tutti Frutti

TUTTI FRUTTI

Sapphires, rubies, emeralds engraved or sculpted in the shape of leaves, buds and berries, cut into cabochons, smooth or fluted beads - Tutti Frutti creations have been emblematic of Cartier style for a century. Inspired by India, whose influence is more alive than ever for the Maison, with a passion for combining volumes, colours and shapes.

HISTORIC PIECES

CARTIER PARIS TUTTI FRUTTI BRACELET, 1925
CARTIER COLLECTION

From the 1920s, precious carved gems were combined in rich compositions. Until then, they were individually set and known as ‘foliage’ in the Maison’s archives. This piece mounted on platinum features diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and rubies in the form of leaves or berries, punctuated with onyx and black enamel.

HINDU NECKLACE, 1936
CARTIER COLLECTION

This necklace, made by Cartier upon the request of Daisy Fellowes in 1936 and modified in 1963, symbolises the radiant beauty of Tutti Frutti. Composed of ancient stones brought by its owner, its design pays tribute to traditional Indian jewellery, initially with a string at the back rather than a clasp.
